Takashi's mother, Chise, lost her home in Miyagi in the Great East Japan Earthquake, and is hospitalized with terminal cancer near Takashi's house in Kanto. She is concerned about her second son, Takumi, who has not been in contact with her. Takashi has complicated feelings for Takumi, who has always been the recipient of his mother's love.
