Biografia

Martin John C. Freeman urodził się 8 września 1971 r. w Aldershot w Anglii. Ma trzech starszych braci i siostrę. Wychował się w rzymskokatolickiej rodzinie. Jako dziecko cierpiał na astmę. Jego ojciec, Geoffrey, oficer marynarki, zmarł na atak serca, gdy syn miał dziesięć lat. W jednym z odcinków "Who Do You Think You Are?" Wystąpił również w takich produkcjach jak "Hardware", "Ali G", "Love Actually", "This Life", "The Robinsons", "Black Books", "Hot Fuzz", "The All Together", "Boy Meets Girl". Wciela się również w postać młodego Bilba Bagginsa w trylogii "Hobbit": "Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", "Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" i "Hobbit: There and Back Again".
