John Cassavetes
Biografia
Syn greckich emigrantów. Ukończył American Academy of Dramatic Art w Nowym Jorku. Pracował na Broadwayu. Od 1955 roku grał w wielu serialach telewizyjnych (był gwiazdą "Johnny'ego Staccato"). Jako aktor zadebiutował niewielkim epizodem w filmie Henry'ego Hathawaya "Czternaście godzin", co ciekawe był to również debiut słynnej Grace Kelly. Później wystąpił m.in. w "Zabójcach" Dona Siegela, "Parszywej dwunastce" Roberta Aldricha (nominacja do Oscara za rolę Victora Franko), "Burzy" Paula Mazursky'ego, czy w głośnym "Dziecku Rosemary" Romana Polańskiego. Grał też w filmach, które realizował. Był mężem aktorki Geny Rowlands, która największe sukcesy osiągnęła w jego produkcjach.
